This guide provides information on locating and accessing print and online resources from Langsdale Library. To help us improve our instruction session, please complete this evaluation.

ABI Inform [on-campus] [help]
Coverage: 1970 - present. Indexes more than 1,300 journals on business, management, with 75% full-text.Computer Database [on campus]
Coverage: 1980 to present. Use this database to find computer-related product introductions, news and reviews in areas such as hardware, software, electronics, engineering, communications and the application of technology.Design & Applied Arts Index [on-campus]
The Design and Applied Arts Index (DAAI) contains annotated references from more than 500 design and craft journals and newspapers published from 1973 onwards. Topics covered include graphic design, computer aided design, animation, advertising, industrial design, multimedia design and marketing.Digital Dissertations (Dissertation Abstracts from Proquest) [on-campus]
Coverage 1861 – present. Indexes U.S., Canadian, British, and other European dissertations and theses; dissertations abstracted since 1980, theses abstracted since 1988. A 24 page preview of dissertations published since 1997 is available. The full text of dissertations may be obtained by clicking the free download button.PsycINFO [on-campus] [help]
Coverage: 1887 – present. Indexes 1,300 Psychology journals from nearly 50 countries. Also includes abstracts for dissertations, books and book chapters. Same coverage as PsycLit.PsycARTICLES [on campus]
This database provides full text articles on current issues in psychology from respected sources, spanning from 1987 to the present. PsycARTICLES includes more than 35,000 full-text articles from 49 journals published by American Psychological Association and allied organizations. All journals included in this database are indexed in PsycINFO.ERIC (EBSCO) [on-campus] [help]
Coverage: 1966 - present. Indexes Current Journals in Education (CIJE) and Resources in Education (RIE). Funded by the Maryland Digital Library (MDL).Humanities International Complete (EBSCO) [on-campus]
Humanities International Complete is an essential collection for comprehensive coverage of the humanities with some full text content. Produced by Whitston Publishing (an imprint of EBSCO Publishing), this database includes all data from Humanities International Index (over 2,000 titles and 2 million records) plus unique full text content, much of which is not found in other databases. The database includes full text for more than 770 journals.Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts [on-campus]
indexes more than 600 periodicals, plus books, research reports and proceedings. Subject coverage includes librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more. Coverage in the database extends back as far as the mid-1960s.MLA International Bibliography [on-campus]
Provides indexing of over 4,000 journals and series. Also indexes books, essay collections, working papers, proceedings, dissertations, and bibliographies. Includes links to full text of selected journal articles.Soc Index with full text (Ebsco) [on-campus]
This index features more than 1,300,000 records with subject headings from a 15,600 term sociology-specific thesaurus designed by expert lexicographers. This product also contains informative abstracts for more than 620 "core" coverage journals dating back to 1895. In addition, this file provides data mined from more than 500 "priority" coverage journals as well as over 1,390 "selective" coverage journals. Further, extensive indexing for books, monographs, conference papers, and other sources is included.

Coverage: 1970 - present. Features full text of many newspapers and periodicals. Also offers business news, legal materials such as federal & state codes, case law and legal journals.Academic Search Premier [on-campus] [help]
Coverage: 1990 - present. Provides full-text for over 3,400 scholarly journals covering the social sciences, humanities, education, sciences, and more. Funded by the Maryland Digital Library (MDL).
Book catalogs:
Use these to locate books, journals (not individual articles), videos, and government documents.
Catalog USMAI [help]
Books, journals, government documents and other materials in the University System of Maryland, including UB. You may search up to six individual locations or the entire system.NetLibrary [on-campus] [help]
Coverage: Varies. A collection of E-texts covering specifically chosen by Maryland Academic Libraries. Funded by the Maryland Digital Library (MDL).Includes many computing/programming handbooks.WorldCat [on-campus] [help]
Coverage: Varies. International database of collections (including books, journals , dissertations, documents, and other materials) held by libraries worldwide. Maryland libraries that own copies of the items display at the top of the list of libraries so you can easily determine if local libraries own the material needed. Records of any type of material cataloged by OCLC member libraries. Includes manuscripts written as early as the 12th century.Any title found here that is not available at a USM library may be requested through Interlibrary Loan .
