This guide provides information on locating and accessing print and online resources from Langsdale Library, including books, journal articles and web resources. Academic Search Premier [on-campus] [help]
Coverage: 1990 - present. Provides full-text for over 3,400 scholarly journals covering the social sciences, humanities, education, sciences, and more. Funded by the Maryland Digital Library (MDL).ArticleFirst [on-campus] [help]
Coverage: 1990 – present. Indexes journals in science, technology, medicine, social science, business, the humanities, and popular culture. Citations only. No abstracts or full-text. Now includes ContentsFirst.CQ Researcher [on-campus] [help]
Coverage: 1991 - present. Provides full text essays on social and political topics, including chronologies, overviews of issues, opposing viewpoints and bibliographies.

Business Source Premier [on-campus] [help]
Coverage: Varies– present. Business Source Premier provides full text for nearly 8,350 scholarly business journals and other sources, including full text for more than 1,100 scholarly business publications. Coverage includes virtually all subject areas related to business. This database provides full text (PDF) for more than 350 of the top scholarly journals dating as far back as 1922. Funded by the Maryland Digital Library (MDL). Includes company profiles, many of which contain SWOT analyses.Criminal Justice Abstracts [on-campus]
Communication & Mass Media Complete [on-campus]
Coverage: 1968 - present. Criminal Justice Abstracts indexes the major journals, books and governmental reports in the areas of criminology and related disciplines. Topics include crime trends, corrections, police, offenders, juvenile delinquency, courts, victims, and sentencing.
Coverage: various dates. Provides the most robust, quality research solution in areas related to communication and mass media. This database originated with the acquisition and subsequent merging of two popular databases in the fields of communication and mass media studies -- CommSearch (formerly produced by the National Communication Association (NCA)), and Mass Media Articles Index (formerly produced by Pennsylvania State University). Communication & Mass Media Complete provides an invaluable resource for students, researchers, and educators interested in any and all aspects of communication and mass media. offers full text for over 200 titles and contains citation coverage for additional sources. In total, several hundred valuable sources are covered.Humanities International Complete (EBSCO) [on-campus]
Humanities International Complete is an essential collection for comprehensive coverage of the humanities with some full text content. Produced by Whitston Publishing (an imprint of EBSCO Publishing), this database includes all data from Humanities International Index (over 2,000 titles and 2 million records) plus unique full text content, much of which is not found in other databases. The database includes full text for more than 770 journals.PsycINFO [on-campus] [help]
Coverage: 1887 – present. Indexes 1,300 Psychology journals from nearly 50 countries. Also includes abstracts for dissertations, books and book chapters. Same coverage as PsycLit.Soc Index with full text (Ebsco) [on-campus]
This index features more than 1,300,000 records with subject headings from a 15,600 term sociology-specific thesaurus designed by expert lexicographers. This product also contains informative abstracts for more than 620 "core" coverage journals dating back to 1895. In addition, this file provides data mined from more than 500 "priority" coverage journals as well as over 1,390 "selective" coverage journals. Further, extensive indexing for books, monographs, conference papers, and other sources is included.

Coverage: Varies. International database of collections (including books, journals , dissertations, documents, and other materials) held by libraries worldwide. Maryland libraries that own copies of the items display at the top of the list of libraries so you can easily determine if local libraries own the material needed. Records of any type of material cataloged by OCLC member libraries. Includes manuscripts written as early as the 12th century.
