Basic Search Engine
This is an engine that takes words and/or phrases, sometimes called search terms or keywords, and searches a collection of sites for any site that may contain those words. Yahoo, Google, and Ask.com are all basic search engines.
Basic search engines are most useful for:
- searching unique terms, citations, organization or company web sites.
- finding subject guides, directories, or specialized engines that cover your topic.
