Access Services/Circulation
Access/Circulation Services provides circulation control and physical maintenance for all library collections, including the reserve collection. It administers the direct borrowing program with the other University System of Maryland libraries. The Department manages the online circulation database and processes fines and fines. Call (410) 837-4260 for information, or check the staff directory.
CIRCULATION/RESERVE DESK
Here you can set up a borrower's account to get items from the circulating and reserve collections. Your account number also lets you access library databases and request books from other libraries to be sent to you for pickup here. Consulting the reserve lists here, you can identify what readings are available on hard copy or electronic reserves. Staff are ready to help you access reserves, borrow books from other libraries, and locate other collections or services in the library.
NEW BOOK DISPLAY
The books displayed on these shelves are grouped by broad subject areas, for example criminal justice or information technology. Available on the sides of the display between the shelves are best sellers and "self development" books with brief reviews. You can charge all books on display at the circulation desk.
VIDEO COLLECTION
All videos are here in call number order. You can use Catalog USMAI, the library's electronic catalog, to find the videos of interest to you. They can either be charged at the circulation desk or used here on the VCRs near these shelves.
CURRENT PERIODICALS
Current issues of periodicals appear in call number order. The library's holdings of each title are listed in Catalog USMAI. Periodicals are limited to in-library use by students. By speaking to staff at the circulation desk, faculty members may take a limited number of issues to their offices.
