LANGSDALE LIBRARY STRATEGIC PLAN
FY 2009-2012

MISSION STATEMENT

Langsdale Library promotes the mission of the University by actively supporting the teaching, learning, research, and information needs of University community members through its resources, services and instruction

INTRODUCTION

Langsdale Library continues to face the challenge of responding to rapid growth and change in technology, programs, and services. The introduction of freshmen and sophomores and the proliferation of new programs in the liberal arts create substantial challenges in meeting the needs of the UB community in the face of limited resources. The Library is committed to ongoing review of its resources and services to maximize its benefit to the University community, especially through cooperation and coordination with other departments in the University, the other University System of Maryland and Affiliated Institutions (USMAI) Libraries, and area academic libraries.

The following Library strategic initiatives and supporting objectives align closely with the University’s vision statements and strategic goals. These initiatives demonstrate the library’s commitment to continued support of the University overarching mission.
