Langsdale to the Rescue

Are you tired of registering for Web sites that your favorite search engine says has exactly what you need, only to discover that what you need is part of the premium content available for a fee?

Do you need a stock analysis? Langsdale now subscribes to ValueLine online. Valueline provides detailed market reports on approximately 1,700 stocks from more than 90 industries, including stock performance and quarterly financial estimates on company’s sales, earnings and dividends.

Want industry ratios? Key Business Ratios, published by Dun and Bradstreet, helps you understand the true performance of a company by benchmarking it against its industry peers. The 14 key business ratios cover all critical areas of business performance—solvency, efficiency and profitability. And, using an individual company's financial statements with Key Business Ratios, you can generate a comparison of a company's own business ratios with the industry.

Not a business student? Our new subscriptions include Soc Index with full text. This databases includes the full text of more than 300 journals (some going as far back as 1895), as well as more than 500 books and 6,711 conference papers. The index features more than 1,300,000 records with subject headings from a 15,600- term, sociology-specific thesaurus designed by expert lexicographers. In addition, the library also provides access to JSTOR; an electronic archive of core journals in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences which includes complete runs of journals with full-text articles published prior to the most current five years.

Psychology students now have access to PsycBooks and PsycExtra. PsycBooks includes most scholarly titles published by APA from 1953 - 2004, 100 out-of-print books more than 70+ classic books of landmark historical impact in psychology, and the exclusive electronic release of more than 1,500 authored entries from the APA/Oxford University Press Encyclopedia of Psychology. PsycExtra, a companion to the scholarly PsycINFO database, consists of technical reports, conference papers, newsletters, magazines, newspapers, consumer brochures and more.

What about the School of Communications Design? In addition to the previous subscription to Design and Applied Arts Index, Langsdale now offers access to the MLA International Bibliography, which provides indexing of more than 4,000 journals and series on topics relating to literature, language and linguistics, folklore, literary theory and criticism, dramatic arts and the historical aspects of printing and publishing.

These are only the newest additions to Langsdale’s suite of 72 databases including coverage of the arts, humanities, social sciences, business, economics, finance, law, current events and more.
