Condolences

The library staff extends its sympathy to Ann Carvel House, who served as the librarian of the Steamship Historical Society Collection at Langsdale until her retirement in 2003, on the death of her father. Elbert Nortrand Carvel, who served two terms as governor of Delaware (from 1949-1953 and again from 1961-1965), died Feb. 6.  A 1931 alumnus of the UB School of Law, Governor Carvel was a Alumnus of the Year and served on the University's Board of Directors when it was a private school.
