When the Samuel Ready School in Baltimore, Maryland closed its doors in 1977, a scholarship organization known as Samuel Ready Scholarships was incorporated in order to continue Ready's mission of creating educational opportunities for young women in Maryland. This organization provides funds to six Baltimore private schools in order to create scholarships for girls based on a combination of academic merit and financial need. Schools supported by the Ready Scholarships include: The Bryn Mawr School, Friends School, Garrison Forest School, Institute of Notre Dame, Roland Park Country School, and St. Paul's School for Girls.
The collection was donated to the University of Baltimore by Herbert B. Williams in December 1977.
