Final Finish: A Long Night of Writing and Research
Wednesday, May 2, 2018
6 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Langsdale Library, Turner Learning Commons 3rd Floor
Working on a final research paper? Putting together a portfolio of your work? Or maybe you need to get started on a long-term writing project? Join UB students, faculty and staff in the University's Long Night of Writing and Research at Langsdale Library.
The event is from 6 p.m. and 1 a.m. Feel free to join the event at any time during its duration. Writing consultants and reference librarians will be available throughout the event to answer any questions you might have about your writing and research projects. If you think you have more than a few questions and want to reserve a 30-minute appointment with a consultant now, you can visit the Achievement and Learning Center’s online appointment system and choose an open appointment on the “Final Finish” schedule. For more information about the online appointment system, please contact the ALC at 410.837.5383 or email@example.com .
You will also have the opportunity to attend small workshops on writing- and research-related topics. And because we know how much energy writing and research require, we will serve light snacks and coffee/tea throughout the night. This event is FREE for UB students, but you need to RSVP .
Reference librarians and writing consultants from ALC’s Writing Center will be available throughout the event. You can ask any questions related to writing and research throughout the night, get feedback on a paragraph or page you have just written, or talk through your outline for the large writing project. You can also make a 30 minute appointment with a writing consultant prior to the event by visiting the ALC scheduling calendar .
Food & Drink
We know that when we work hard, we need to replenish not just our minds, but also our bodies! We will serve cold and hot drinks and a snack buffet starting at 6 p.m.
So that we can make sure we have enough food and drink to sustain you during Final Finish, we need you to register for this event through the UB Calendar. Please make sure that you bring ID with you as the library will be open only to UB students after 10 PM.
