Historical Note:
The Order of the Founders and Patriots of America is a male lineage society established in 1896. Members must prove to be descended from an ancestor who settled in one of the original thirteen colonies before May 13, 1657. An additional criterion requires members be descended through the same line from a patriot in the Revolutionary War (regardless of military service). The society's activities include presenting awards to military organizations, individuals, and students; commemorating historic events; historical and genealogical research; and social events.
