Scope and Contents:  
Minutes, correspondence, by-laws, membership applications, quarterly and annual reports,photographs, newspaper clippings, and publications.  

Historical Note:  
The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) is a lineage society for men who trace their heritage to the American Revolutionary War.  The Maryland Society was formed on April 20, 1889 in Annapolis and is the eighth oldest state society.  The organization is today known as a historical and educational non-profit corporation that promotes patriotism, citizenship, and national unity.   

Custodial History:  
The collection was donated to the University of Baltimore by James A. McCafferty on October 13, 1992.
